What is Matcha Powder?

Matcha is a finely ground powder made from specially grown and processed green tea leaves. Unlike traditional green tea, where the leaves are steeped and discarded, matcha involves consuming the entire leaf, offering a more concentrated form of nutrients and antioxidants.

Producing high-quality matcha is an art form. The process begins with shade-growing the tea plants for about three weeks before harvest, which increases chlorophyll levels and deepens the green color. Only the finest leaves are selected, steamed to preserve color and nutrients, dried, and then stone-ground into a fine powder.
